LOL the Shandong chauvinist throway2 / observer_t is starting to spewing out weird outlandish claims yet again. Neither Henan nor Jiangnan resembles Guangdong/Guangxi, in fact Henan and Jiangnan probably have more resemblances with each other than either has with the Far South. Both look significantly more northern compared to people from Lingnan. Historically speaking Jiangnan was the major destination of Sinitic migrants, particularly those from Henan. And genetically according to the results from Wegene / 23Mofang a lot of people in Jiangnan score around 60-70% Northern Han (with the reference pop of Northern Han located somewhere in Henan), whereas those from Lingnan particularly the Canto/Yue speakers from Western GD and GX usually score less than 10% Northern Han. Canto/Yue speakers have the greatest overlap with Tai-Kradai peoples from Far South / Southwest China and Northern SE Asia like Dong, Hlai, Zhuang, Bouyei, Mulam, Tai Lue, Tay Nung, Tai Yuan, Isan, and various other Northern Thai peoples. Not only do they resemble these Tai-Kradai peoples in terms of appearance (a narrowish face with relatively large eyes and eyebrows set close to the eyes which give out a deep-eyed impression), but linguistically and genetically they are also related and have great overlaps. Sinitic ethno-centrists need to acknowledge and accept the fact that Cantonese are mostly of native descent. A well-known Chinese Douyin celebrity Yi Guangbian, who is a Tai Lue girl from Sipsong Panna / Xishuang Banna. It's not hard to see that her facial features have a lot of resemblances to the GD/GX girls that I've posted in this thread before. This girl is just a generic austronesian mediaoid. She is found in Jiangsu. Nope she doesn't, she looks distinctively Daic. She doesn't look like any Jiangsu women I've seen. She's very popular on Douyin and you can try searching for some of her videos before jumping to conclusion. Really stop trolling with your Sino-centric or Shandong centric ideology here, nobody likes you guys.

Protesting villagers from Wukan Guangdong These look the same as certain Henanese people, and can maybe even pass as Oroqens specifically in Manchuria I've searched a bit and found that Wukan is located in the Chaoshan/Teochew region, hence these people are not even Cantonese. Do you even understand the meaning of Cantonese to begin with? If you don't just shut the F up and stop trolling with your Sinocentric ideology. Chaoshan/Teochew people are some of the most exclusive peoples in China, they really dislike outsiders. I've recently had a debate with an Indonesian Teochew person and he said he would rather go out to the sea than marrying a Cantonese barbarian woman. That's how deep the segregation between Teochew and Cantonese really is. If you call these villagers Cantonese they would probably lash out all of their anger at you.

Cantonese-Americans often look the same as these... That's because most of them were from the metropolitan areas of the Pearl River Delta and are heavily mixed with Hakka, Teochew, Hunanese, Jiangxiese, and others.

This guy looks pan-Guangdong - Hubei/Hunan - Henan Yep, keep trolling with images/videos of metropolitan Cantos, Hakkas, and Teochews, none of them can really represent Cantonese.

It's hard to find photos of Western GD Canto people online due to the remoteness of their location however I've managed to find a group photo of some old village folks from Maoming, they obviously look different from those Teochew villagers of Wukan.

Their faces are blurry, but I think at least half of them can pass in Henan or central-southern Shaanxi

Tbh people in Henan and especially Xi'an sometimes do look Austroasiatic; they oftentimes have deep set eyes, cheekbone protrusion and face can be short and wide.
