Like why has the Nyctosaurus evolved a huge stripy triangle flappy thing on his or her head. How does that help?

This is another interpretation. Could this be some flashy thing to attract potential mates?



Actually if this pterosaur flies in stormy seas I think a bolt of lightning might hit that thing which looks to be more insulative instead of the body. So if that's the case then this is a great feature.
