The Chinese woman in red is tilting her chin up slightly symbolically in repose like a cat getting stroked under its chin just like a pet cat. She is catcore for anyone who wants to know. But...this shows that in modern photography the white person is portrayed as coddling Asians as their pets. That's why it is racist.   Alternatively it has the power of appropriating the imagery of ancient China because in ancient Tang China it would have been the other way around.  Those white women were supposedly sold as slaves.  The photographer must be some white guy showing them to be more than mail order brides.
