One point not usually discussed is how environment seems to clearly change or influence phenotype. For example, people in North China in the past century have gone through at least 3-4 growth stages; elderly farmers narrow faced, gen X wider faced and Millenials/Gen Z are polarized (some very robust, others very gracile and shortfaced).
In this thread, I'd like to hear from everyone their experiences regarding phenochange in different groups.

One of the biggest differences I can easily spot is the difference between Millenial/Gen z China born people and ABCs of the same age. For males, China born males are oftentimes very robust and abruptly structured (they are prone to having this high bone definition very square face). Abcs meanwhile are more narrow and rounded. Vincent Zhou and Nathan Chen have typical ABC growth patterns. www.nbc4i.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/18/2018/01/chen-mens-podium-nats18-usatsi_10528379-1024_38929332_ver1.0.jpgI will also include Chinese people born in Japan as mostly "ABC looking". These two Japan born Chinese (from Sichuan), are both ABC looking in the eye area and facial proportions. The guy has a wider face, but his eye area is calm and facial bones are mostly rounded, unlike some PRC born people with very abrupt jaws and a strong sharp eye area. imgur.com/GWpFd8xA Chinese Gen Z high schooler from Inner Mongolia. His facial proportions and robustness are rather uncommon on say ABCs. imgur.com/7Y7X01WA Caltech scientist, obviously PRC born. He simply cannot pass as ABC due to his jaw being too wide and square + abrupt. divisions-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/pma/images/Ma_Sizheng.width-350.jpg

Is there any data on robustness by region in East Asia? When I look at say Chinese Americans, I don't see a difference in head size or skull robustness between the northern and southern ones. I also don't really see much of a difference between Korean Americans and Chinese Americans and also Viet Americans seem similar?

Looking through Maryland ABCs with southern chinese surnames, there doesn't seem to be a differece between them and the Koreans and the PRCs in face size, hence I conclude that face size when environment is equalized, should be roughly the same.
