I have realized that my anthrotardism abilities are hindered by my lack of knowledge on formal population genetics/genomics. I am able to read papers and get the "gist" of what people are saying, but am usually unable to determine things such as if the paper is actually "good" or not. As such, I will be attempting to self-learn formal population genetics/genomics + various mathematical methods used.
I will be using this thread to record my progress + any examples I can find in the literature applying the basic methods I come across.
I think first I will try to go over the fundamentals by reading over/working through the following textbooks simultaneously-
1) Population Genetics: A Concise Guide (Gillespie)
2) A Biologist's Guide to Mathematical Modeling in Ecology and Evolution (Otto and Day)
After I am complete with this segment of learning, I will determine what other topics I would like to focus on.
