Just wondering. Cuz I am overseas (although ancestors migrated centuries ago) but cannot speak any Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, Wu etc at all. i am also very globalized and westernized in my beliefs and opinions that it might offend a lot of locals I think. Tbh, I will admit that where I am studying right now, I have a few friends who are Americans or third cultured kids, but I don't have any friends from East Asia at all.

Yes, I think most likely you will be viewed as someone who is very Western, and thus banana. Do you normally use chopsticks or knife and fork to eat meals?

I mostly use spoon and fork to eat when I am in Thailand but when I am in the US, I used knife and fork. So I rarely used chopsticks in my life lol.

One time I forgot to bring utensils to work and I brought my own lunch. Looking through the cabinet all that were left were plastic knives, so I used 2 plastic knives as chopsticks.

Also the fact that I cannot speak Mandarin or any other Sinitic languages, will make me look really weird and banana lol.
