It's one of my supervisors he told me he watched Beauty and the Beast and I was thinking to myself isn't that a blockbuster kids film for kids. I thought he would watch a film with an obscure title like "Winchester Grace: Inspector of Salisbury" featuring boring characters with names like Penny Worthington, Bernard Tithering and Hubert Cumberdale. It's probably something boring like a love triangle featuring a scene with horse riding or a rural ~mystery~ in the countryside that's not that hard to figure out. That's what I thought he would watch.

You pretty much watch boring movies that have meaning to you in some odd way like Dyslexia at heart about some Grandfather and grandson sharing the journey of their dyslexia together. But I get what you are saying by weird in his choice of blockbuster. What might get even weirder is if he's white and over 80 years old and chooses House of Flying Daggers Ultimate Director's cut in deluxe steelbox set because it was one of the hundreds of choices to choose from by using up your rewards points on your credit card. And to top it off he "introduces" this movie to you because you are Chinese.

Yes and like a film about antique trading or fishing which doesn't seem to go anywhere and it's just these characters who have long boring conversations which is hard to follow. So when people are old they want to watch films that have meaning to them so they would watch a film with an obscure title like "Fly From The Rye" which has a lot of dialogue and boring themes like a dog that gives birth. The main character is called something like Burnell Jameson. He has dyslexia and his son has dyslexia and they share their journey of having dyslexia together. And yes an 80 year old choosing the deluxe edition House of Flying Daggers and then recommending it to me is like uh ok thanks?
