For an 8 inch Gen 5, 150 US dollars. While for Gen 5, 70? And if you check Amazon you still have to buy the Gen 5 for the original higher price tag. So that's cutting it by more than half for the price tag of Gen 6. The main point about Gen 6 is that it increased in drive memory from 8 to 16 GB while the cpu went down by .2 gigahertz for some reason. Also these prices are with ads on the home page. So if you don't want ads you need to add in some more money.
So the point of this tablet is to take advantage of Amazon Prime membership just like people who used Amazon Firestick to turn their HD TV's into internet subscription based television.
The problem is that not everyone uses Amazon Prime the same way. Amazon Prime is used by many for just free shipping. So if by cutting the cost of the tablet in half is justified by an increase of profits from subscriptions of media packages off Amazon Prime then I would understand but that is kind of expecting everyone who buys a tablet from Amazon to just do the same thing and buy at least 80 dollars worth of games, music, movies and tv shows for use on the device.
