Personally, I would like to think it's me (and I'm honestly not a very good cook) but whenever I feel that I've outdone myself, mom shows me up. Then there are things that I realize I just can't make. Like cakes, it's messy and my hands turn all icky and gross but mom does it like a pro (even though my grandmother never made them in her childhood and she learned it all by herself)

Now that I live away from home, hopefully my skills will improve in due time.

eldertree I've seen some of the food you've made yourself and I think you could have been a chef if you wanted to (the opportunity is still there) lol
