I watched it yesterday with my family
And I was expected a twist to really bring home the message that this is a 21st century production rid of stigmas like the disabled, the non-Whites or the LGBT+ community
But then there wasn't really anything that shocking in the end it was far too predictable. Gaston had an obsessive fat gay lover who follows him around and there was a scene where one of the thugs gets dressed up as a woman and enjoys the new makeover in a comedic way. There are also loads of Black or Brown skinned folk in the Baroque / Rococo era French story which I actually thought was a bit confusing and the addition of melanin-rich folk just for the sake of melanin-rich folk was just too obvious. As if Asian people don't exist but only Black people do. That's like a kick in the teeth for Asians, as if we are too weird to be shown. Like excuse me Disney but that is not on.
