Well I watch a film but I never intend on watching it again usually Newer films that I enjoyed were The Wolf of Wall Street and Django Unchained
Newer films haven't really caught my eye. But I thought it was funny that blockbusters like Ghostbusters (2016) received a lot of hate for having an all female lead, the critics lauded it. But then users were getting supremely butthurt and gave it 1 star on websites like IMDB.

IMDB is a joke and a nest of butthurt! It's also very outdated when it comes to Asian movies, only the classics are lauded with praise.
Not many new Asian movies get a score greater than 6, even very good ones. For movies that do score 6, be prepared to see the message boards flooded with threads about how 'overrated' that particular film is. However, you'll be considered a troll for merely saying you don't enjoy movies like 'Toy Story 3' or stating the Shawshank Redemption is overrated af (it is).
For reviews about Chinese movies I just go to douban.

Anyways, I recommend movies based on how well I remember them and the most recent film that I enjoyed was Zootopia. I nominate Nick Wilde for best animated character because of his wit. In many ways, I consider him metaphorical to the Chinese. In both Crapbound88 and as a whole He also has some of the best lines I've seen. "Never let them see that they get to you."

Oh Zootopia yes I enjoyed that it was good I loved the twists and turns in it and the characters were very enjoyable to watch. It is a great film Nick Wilde does personify how Chinese on Eastbound88 are treated because he faced prejudicial and oppressive treatment for being a fox or carnivore. Just like how I faced prejudicial and oppressive treatment for simply being a Chinese person celebrating my heritage.

Eastbound88, where Chinese are demonized for showing the teeniest bit of pride in our heritage. Funny thing is once the Chinese leave, team anti-China will leave out of boredom only to infect and destroy another site where Chinese are busy enjoying. Eastbound88 is a shit site that's powered by trolls. The most popular threads there are the ones where there is plenty of bickering and trolling.

Has anyone seen Lights Out? I recommend that. I haven't. Trailer looks good but reviews seem to think it's a bad movie. How scary is it? On a scale of 1 to 10?

It's an 8 in scariness. Critics compare it unfavourably to the Babadook especially when it comes to building scary tension. I found Lights Out much scarier than the yell fest that was the Babadook.

So many recommendations I finally got around to watching it and let's just say I was surprisingly moved. Without giving out too much away, it's a highly nuanced work of art yet emotionally powerful. Let's just say that I liked it a lot better than I thought I would. The director is from Hong Kong but even he would admit that much of the credit goes to the two mainland actresses. Definitely one of the best films I've watched ever. So yes, if any you guys haven't watched it yet this one has Defiance's stamp of approval. And soon you'd be recommending it to others like a chain letter LOL

Peylus watch this movie called "The Shadow". It is definitive proof that Asians are belittled by whites. Thank you.

thejackal eldertree foheadDynasty Have you guys heard of the upcoming movie "This is Not What I Expected" (喜欢你)? I did not expect the English title to differ so much from the Chinese one The reviews and ratings so far have been mostly positive. I expect good things from it. So far it has a similar vibe to two of my favorite drama movies, Soul Mate (七月与安生) and Go Away Mr. Tumor (滚蛋吧!肿瘤君). First because it has Zhou Dongyu and two because the character she plays is eccentric like the main character in Mr. Tumor. Reasons to watch: 1. The food looks delicious, a dramedy centred around cooking and food. Brilliant! 2. Hong Kong China cooperation. It's nice to see Cantonese appreciate other regional cuisines besides their own. Even if it's once in a while. 3. Zhou Dongyu sure knows how to act. Almost all the movies she's starred in have been a success with critics. 4. Zhou Dongyu

Watched this at last. 6.1 on IMDB and 64% on Rotten Tomatoes is way too low. If this was a western movie, expect it to get 8 and 90%+ on both just like 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'. Eitherway, I found it really satisfying when: The Chinese actor, Lin Gengxin completely dominated the Taiwanese actor, Peter Ho in that final fight
