I am thinking of buying about 400 dollars worth and rationing that to about 100 meals which is about 4 US dollars per meal which is pretty damn cheap. But I also want to vacuum seal them in plastic bags so that I can cook them all in a big bin filled with water. However I wonder if they have to be refrigerated after that. eldertree;

The idea is to cook them all without even having to attend to them. When I cook a regular meal it takes at least 8-10 minutes if I want to use the frying pan for steak or salmon etc. It's about a minute to heat up, a minute each side to sear, 2-3 minutes each side on medium to simmer the meat in its own juices. Using the rice cooker to cook rice is a 20 minute wait so you can imagine I get bogged down waiting for rice to finish cooking.
All that heating energy would be expended much more effectively if I can just cook everything all at once instead of frying one piece of steak at a time or 2 cups of rice at a time. So I would want to put some oil and seasonings into a bag filled with water and rice or water and noodles and a separate bag with the protein portion with its own oil and spice. Again, same for vegetables.

I bought this teriyaki fried rice which was frozen in bags and I pop it in the microwave and the result is a moist fried rice sort of thing. I quite like it but it's not for everyone.

Yea I get the soggy fried rice failure. I guess I'm going to have to stick to a set of recipes that are about moist textures and soupy consistencies.

Soggy fried rice does not sound appealing It doesn't sound appealing but it tastes godly. You know you can get clay pot rice which is moist? Well it's like that
